Lay-ups – a consequence of the financial crisis
During the major lay-ups in the shipping industry in the 1970s and 1980s, DNV was instrumental setting the standard on safe and cost optimal lay-up and preservation of ships. Due to the financial crisis, this knowledge and experience are once again sought after.
ISO for Dubai Maritime City
DNV has awarded quality, safety and environmental ISO certification to Dubai Maritime City (DMC) and its regulatory arm Dubai Maritime City Authority. DMC aims to become the world’s first purpose-built maritime centre when it is completed in 2012.
