A legal matter
Breaches of copyright may have legal implications for DNV. DNV must go to extra lengths to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
The copyright owner has an exclusive right to reproduce the copyright protected product and to make this available to the public. This means that any type of copying, e.g. downloading from the internet, photo copying, print outs and other electronic copying etc. requires the copyright owner's prior consent.
Also, up-loading to the internet and other publishing of the product requires a prior consent from the copyright owner. This applies to all types of copyright protected products such as photographs, graphics, books, articles, software, videos, movies, music etc.
The creator of the copyright protected product shall always be recognised by name and in some cases there are special agreements such as loan agreements for photographers and image owners which has requirements to how these shall be credited.
As a general rule, photos and graphics must not be downloaded from the internet for use in business or marketing purposes on behalf of DNV; for copyright and technical reasons.
